Must Visit Places in Melbourne

Over Christmas break we spent three days in Melbourne soaking up the hot summer sunshine and pretending to be tourists who hadn’t visited before (I was last here in March 2013). I was really excited to check out the renovated GPO building (which now houses the iconic H&M) and absorb the picturesque views around me. During the three days, we visited the Twelve Great Apostles (one word: amazing); Ballarat (where we ‘mined’ for gold); St Patrick’s Cathedral; Phillip Island to watch penguins arriving on shore, and also explored old city favourites like Flinders Street Station, Chinatown and the Treasury. Armed with my camera and phone in hand, I took a million pictures of everything, gorged on way too much food and slept less than five hours every night. It’s so much fun visiting a place that you haven’t been to in a while and acting like you’ve never been there before, just in order to get a whole new experience and fresh memories out of the journey.

For my must visit places in Melbourne, read my post here on the five must-visit places to go in Melbourne.

These photos make me want to visit Melbourne immediately. I love that you explored the place as if you’ve never been there before and the fresh perspective is awesome. I often do this in neighboring towns because there’s always new places to discover. It’s quite fun actually
